Lucent Chat Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Lucent Chat! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our AI chat and content generation services ("Lucent Chat," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Services (the "Service"), you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Lucent, you agree to abide by these Terms and any additional guidelines, rules, or disclaimers provided by us. We may update these Terms periodically, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. User Accounts
You may be required to create an account to access certain features of Lucent. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during the sign-up process and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Use of the Service
You may use Lucent Chat for lawful purposes only. You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, infringing, or otherwise violates the rights of others. Lucent Chat enables users to conduct AI-assisted conversations and generate content ("Generations"), including your prompts, text inputs, configuration and model parameters, and any files or media you upload (such as images or audio), as well as the outputs produced by the Service (collectively, "Generations"). You are solely responsible for your Generations and any outputs you choose to use or share.
4. Content Ownership and Licenses
You retain ownership of your Generations, including messages, images, audio, and other outputs you create using Lucent Chat. Except as described in this Section 4, we do not claim ownership of your Generations.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, you grant Lucent a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, display, and create derivative works from your Generations as reasonably necessary to:
- provide and improve the Service and its features;
- develop and improve models, safety systems, and related technologies;
- detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and
- comply with law and enforce these Terms.
4.1 Free-Tier Generations (public sharing license)
If you use Lucent Chat on a free plan or otherwise access the Service without payment ("Free-Tier"), you additionally grant Lucent a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute, and create derivative works from your Free-Tier Generations, including associated prompts, configuration parameters, and uploaded content (such as images), for any lawful purpose, including:
- displaying and sharing Generations within Lucent Chat (for example, galleries, community feeds, and example content);
- creating and publishing templates, presets, or example workflows;
- marketing, case studies, documentation, and educational materials; and
- research and development to improve Lucent Chat and related products.
When we publicly share Free-Tier Generations under this Section 4.1, we will:
- remove or obfuscate personal identifiers we reasonably detect and will not intentionally display your name, email address, or account identifiers without your consent; and
- may edit or curate Free-Tier Generations (including prompts and uploads) for clarity, length, or safety.
You understand and agree that Free-Tier Generations may be shared publicly at Lucent's discretion, and you should not include information you do not want to be publicly visible. You are responsible for ensuring that your Free-Tier Generations do not contain personal data or content you are not permitted to share.
4.2 Paid Generations (no public sharing without consent)
If you use Lucent Chat on a paid subscription or other paid plan ("Paid Plan"), Lucent will not publicly display, publish, or share your Paid Generations (or associated prompts, parameters, or uploads) outside of your account without your prior consent, except:
- where you explicitly choose to share or publish content through the Service (for example, by publishing a template, enabling sharing on a project, or using a "share" or "publish" feature);
- where you have provided separate, explicit consent for a specific use (for example, agreeing in writing, by email, or via a form to participate in a case study, testimonial, or marketing material); or
- as required by law or legal process.
We may still use and process Paid Generations internally under the license granted above to operate, secure, and improve the Service, but such use will not involve public disclosure of your Paid Generations in a way that identifies you or your account, unless you have provided affirmative consent as described in this Section 4.2.
5. Payment and Subscriptions
Certain features of Lucent Chat may require a subscription or payment. By subscribing to our paid services, you agree to pay the applicable fees.
Refunds:
Refunds are only available if fewer than 10 generations have been made on the relevant account within 7 days of purchase, and only for verifiable technical faults preventing use of the Service. Refunds are not provided for dissatisfaction with output quality or style. Outputs are produced by third‑party AI model providers that we integrate with, and we do not control model behavior or guarantee specific results.
Certain features and content-handling rules differ between free and paid plans. Please see Section 4 (Content Ownership and Licenses) for how Generations from free and paid accounts may be used and shared.
6. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service to create any content that violates copyright or intellectual property rights.
- Engage in any activity that may disrupt or interfere with the proper functioning of the Service.
7. Privacy
Your use of Lucent Chat is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
8. Disclaimers
Lucent Chat provides the Service "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unexpected. Many features rely on third‑party AI models and services; we do not control model behavior and do not warrant the accuracy, quality, or fitness of outputs. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error‑free, secure, or uninterrupted. You use the Service at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lucent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Lucent Chat at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice if you violate these Terms or if we believe it is necessary to protect the integrity of the Service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Delaware. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
